Rick Breunesse and Hendrika van Kleef form a dynamic husband-and-wife team at the helm of UpShift. Drawing on combined expertise in mechanical engineering, sales, marketing, communication, and management, they deliver strong, effective leadership. Through collaboration with field specialists and PhDs in chemistry and CFD, and by leveraging a broad network of industry leaders, they craft practical, innovative solutions. Our team believes hydrogen-powered fleets and transit can offer a cost-efficient path forward—fueled by partnerships that drive an “upshift” across the entire local hydrogen ecosystem.
Our history
